Terms of Service
How we quote, how we work, and what you can expect from us.
Last updated: 12 August 2026
These terms apply to tiling work carried out by ROH Tiling (Rohullah Rassuli) and to your use of rohullahtiling.co.nz. Where we have given you a written quote, that quote and these terms together form our agreement. If anything here conflicts with your written quote, the quote wins.
1. Quotes
- Quotes are free and carry no obligation.
- A quote is valid for 30 days from its date, after which material prices may have moved.
- Quotes are based on the condition of the site as seen at the time of quoting and on the information you give us. If the substrate turns out to be unsound, out of level, or otherwise different from what was visible, we will tell you before continuing and give you a revised price.
- Unless the quote says otherwise, it excludes demolition and removal of existing surfaces, plumbing and electrical work, waste disposal, and making good to adjacent surfaces.
2. Accepting a quote and scheduling
Work is booked once you accept the quote in writing (email or text is fine). Dates are our best estimate and can move because of weather, other trades running late, or delays in material supply. We will keep you informed if a date changes.
For larger jobs we may ask for a deposit to secure materials and the booking. Any deposit will be stated in your quote.
3. Variations
Any change to the agreed scope — extra area, a different tile, a change of layout, or unforeseen substrate work — is a variation. We will tell you the cost before carrying it out. Variations agreed on site will be confirmed in writing and added to the final invoice.
4. Your responsibilities
- Provide clear, safe access to the work area at the agreed times, and access to power and water.
- Clear the area of furniture, personal effects and breakables before we start.
- Tell us about anything hidden in the walls or floor — pipes, cables, underfloor heating, waterproofing — before we cut into them.
- Obtain any building consent required for the wider project. We will supply documentation for our own work, including PS3 producer statements for waterproofing where required.
5. Materials
- If you supply the tiles, please order the quantity we advise, including an allowance for cuts and breakage — usually 10–15%. We are not responsible for delays or extra cost caused by short supply, discontinued lines, or batch shade variation.
- If we supply materials, they are charged as quoted. Tiles from different batches can vary in shade; we will do our best to blend them, but this is a characteristic of the product, not a defect.
- Natural stone varies in colour, veining and porosity, and generally needs sealing. Samples show the range, not the exact tile you will receive.
- Materials remain our property until paid for in full.
6. Our workmanship
All work is carried out to the relevant New Zealand standards, including the New Zealand Building Code and, for wet-area waterproofing, NZS 4858. We are careful about substrate preparation, falls to drains, and correct membrane installation, because that is what determines whether a bathroom is still sound in fifteen years.
Small variations in grout colour, minor lippage within tolerance on hand-laid tile, and hairline movement in grout as a building settles are normal and are not defects.
7. Warranty
We warrant our workmanship for 12 months from completion. If something we installed fails because of our work in that period, tell us and we will put it right at no charge.
The warranty does not cover:
- Faults in materials you supplied, or manufacturer defects — these are covered by the supplier's own warranty
- Damage from building movement, earthquake, structural failure, or water entering from outside our work
- Damage from misuse, impact, unsuitable cleaning products, or failure to maintain grout and silicone
- Work altered or repaired by someone else
Silicone and grout are maintenance items. They need periodic cleaning and eventual replacement in wet areas, and this is normal wear rather than a defect.
8. Payment
- Invoices are payable within 7 days of the invoice date unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
- Payment is by bank transfer to the account shown on the invoice.
- On longer jobs we may invoice in stages as work is completed.
- Overdue accounts may incur reasonable recovery costs.
9. Cancellation
You can cancel a booking at any time. If you cancel after we have bought materials specifically for your job, or within 48 hours of the start date, we may charge for those materials and for time already committed. We will always keep any such charge to what we have actually incurred.
10. Your rights under New Zealand law
Where you engage us as a consumer, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 applies and nothing in these terms limits or excludes your rights under it. Our warranty above is in addition to those rights, not instead of them. Where you engage us in trade — for example as a builder, developer or property manager — the parties agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply.
Except where the Consumer Guarantees Act or other law says otherwise, our liability for any claim relating to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
11. This website
- All photographs on this site are of work carried out by Rohullah Rassuli. Some are taken mid-installation and are captioned as such.
- Photographs show past projects. Tile, layout and finish will differ on your job, and images are not a guarantee of a particular result.
- Content, images and design on this site are our property, or used with permission, and may not be reproduced without our consent.
- We aim to keep the site accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is free of errors or always available.
12. Privacy
Information you send us is handled as set out in our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If a problem arises, please talk to us first — most things are sorted out with a phone call.
